SNA Coordinates Food Donations to SSH and Dwyer Home Workers

Dear Neighbors,

The Southfield Neighborhood Association (SNA) Board hopes that everyone is doing okay during these extremely difficult times. Many of us feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful community with lots of open space for enjoying the great outdoors. Please consider reaching out to your neighbors around you and let us know if anyone needs help. Several people have offered on our Facebook site to help with grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions but many neighbors are not on Facebook. During this past month, we have had many neighbors help honor health care workers at South Shore Hospital and Dwyer Nursing Home by providing donated meals and making signs for outside these facilities. If you want to help future initiatives, please email snaheidi@gmail.com

From Around the Community -

Just a reminder as the SNA Board hears about the following concerns in our community:

  • Speeding & Stop Signs - with more people (well just about everyone except essential workers) at home these days, please, please slowwww down. The speed limit in the residential areas is 15 mph. Please do not cut through alleys or Dorset Park Lane. These areas are private. Please remember to come to a complete stop at all Stop signs and slow down near cross walks.

  • Parking - there are several areas in the neighborhood where parking is simply not permitted. This includes - all of Snow Bird Avenue and Stonehaven up until Brookfield Village. We did not make the rules. New signage - required by Weymouth - will be going over the next month or two. Please abide by the rules and make sure your visitors, including service repair workers, do as well.

  • Pets - We have so much space available for walking dogs at Union Point. Please keep you dogs off people's lawns and other private property. Linear Park and the grass strip between the sidewalk and street is common area. And PLEASE PICK UP AND DISPOSE OF DOG POOP. It's both the law and the number one resident complaint.

We look forward to when we can get together with our neighbors. Until then, please stay healthy and safe!

The SNA will ultimately be joining forces with UPvoters.org. In the meantime, please join UPvoters.org to receive all the neighborhood news from both the SNA and UPvoters.org.
